I like to compare this process to a blank canvas. Initially, our canvas gets painted with colors chosen by others. However, there’s a realization that we can repaint this canvas with our own choice of colors, reflecting our true selves. Similarly, our values can be like a pair of glasses through which we see the world. By studying other cultures and beliefs, I’ve learned to replace these lenses with clearer ones, allowing me to view the world more objectively and form my own set of values.
